Over a decade of caring for and training animals

Brilliant Behavior began when two zoological professionals began fostering dogs and volunteering for a local rescue. With their background in animal behavior and training, they soon realized the same techniques that train the animals they care for in their profession could be utilized to successfully train these pets and make them more adoptable. Working with the rescue enabled them to branch out and help other dogs, fosters, and adopters. Brilliant Behavior was formed to expand their reach and help families across Central Florida for more communication, better understanding, and desirable behavior between humans and their furry, feathered, and scaled family members! Since then, Brilliant Behavior has expanded to welcome other zoological professionals to expand for in-home pet care!

Let our specialists care for your animals in all capacities, from training to care while guardians are away, trust in Brilliant Behavior’s team to fill that need!

Meet the Team

Xander, Animal Behavior Specialist

Xander’s zoological career started at the Audubon Zoo as an intern training California Sea Lions. This internship solidified his desire to become a trainer, and he continued this path having worked at Busch Gardens Tampa, The Florida Aquarium, and SeaWorld Orlando. Xander’s career has allowed him the privilege to work with a variety of terrestrial and marine species, from sloths and giraffes to otters and dolphins. He has learned how to build relationships with these animals and provide them the best care possible and hopes to teach you how to do the same with yours!

Lynette, Animal Behavior Specialist

Lynette’s love for animals began at a young age, as she has never known a life without them. Having grown up with a variety of pets in the home which ranged from dogs to rabbits to an umbrella cockatoo, animals were imprinted in her heart. It was no surprise her first internship was with a wildlife rehabilitation center for injured and orphaned Florida natives. Having been an educator and on animal ambassador teams at multiple zoological facilities, she learned not only how to train animals to work with people, but impactful ways to teach people about these animals as well. Currently, she is a zookeeper and spends her days caring for 6 different species of penguins. Lynette would be happy to use her animal care and training background to help you refine your bond with the animals in your home!

Lizzy, Animal Care Specialist, Pet Care Coordinator

In Lizzy’s words, “Taking care of animals is what I’ve chosen to do with my life and I love every second of it!” Lizzy has had the privilege of caring for animals in a pet sitting environment for over 10 years. In 2019, she made pet care a larger part of her life by creating a business and is now the Pet Care Coordinator for Brilliant Behavior. In her zoological career, Lizzy has worked with dolphins for the last 4 years. She has the ability to care for a variety of animals and has an uncanny ability to make even the most shy animals feel comfortable.
